Little baby Gabriel decided to arrive EARLY! His mom had contacted me weeks prior, to photograph a maternity session since this was going to be their last pregnancy. However, we all know what God says about planning. What was supposed to be a maternity session turned into a Fresh 48 newborn session at Lake Forest Hospital.
When I walked into the hospital room, dad was busy filling out his transfer papers. This beautiful family of five, is moving to ITALY in just a few short weeks. I want to say how lucky they are, but I can only imagine the chaos of having just had their third boy and trying to plan an international relocation. By the time I post this blog, they will be well on their way to Italy!
I had not had the opportunity to meet Dainna before our session, so I cannot emphasize what an honor it is to have her welcome me, a stranger, into her hospital room at such a vulnerable, intimate time to document the arrival of their newest addition. The labor was difficult and Dainna was tired, but she looked SO utterly beautiful, like stunningly beautiful. It’s one of those moments as a photographer, where you thank your lucky stars to get to photography such beauty. That sweet little boy didn’t make a peep the entire time I was there. He was an absolute angel and I feel so honored, lucky, and blessed to have captured his first day in this world.
Welcome to the world baby Gabriel. You are already so loved by your mom and dad and two older brothers. Enjoy your first three years in Italy. I hope I get to photograph you again! Dainna and Corey, THANK YOU for giving me the honor of documenting his arrival. I am so touched to have been a part of his homecoming!
