No matter the current trends, European estate weddings are always in vogue. Whether you grew up dreaming of the views of Pemberley or are a recent convert with Bridgerton on a constant rotation, these atmospheres have everything you need for a storybook wedding. Now, it’s just a matter of finding the right one! As a Chicago photographer, I get the chance to connect with so many couples as they have their perfect wedding, and I have gotten to see some pretty charming venues as a result. If you are looking for your European estate wedding, let me tell you what you can expect with a Greencrest Manor wedding.
About The Greencrest Manor Wedding Venue
6174 Halbert Road, Battle Creek, Michigan 49017
Greencrest Manor is a French-inspired estate wedding venue that was built in 1935 in Battle Creek, Michigan. A convenient halfway point between Chicago and Detroit. While the manor might have been built less than a century ago, you will instantly feel as though you have been transported to another time and place. This estate is a fabulous example of how some things just get better over time! The gardens are lush with heritage flowers, while the ivy draped over the chateau adds to the romance. The manor is currently under the leadership of Jennifer Ederer and her team at Modern Day Collective. This woman-run team is here to work with you every step of the way so you can have your dream wedding.
Greencrest Manor is a house that is primarily an outdoor venue. Most couples choose to use the Ceremony Lawn Deck in front of the manor to exchange vows. This has several perks. Not only are you going to have the majestic manor as your backdrop, but the steps leading into the space are going to ensure you have a truly dramatic entrance. If you do prefer to have an indoor ceremony, you can use the Maison des Fetes. This gorgeous room features cathedral ceilings, french doors that can be left open, and white walls that can be transformed with your decorations.
The primary reception space is the Maison des Fetes. This building can easily be transformed into an open-air space thanks to the French doors. This room is refined yet intimate, giving you the chance to get cozy with your guests and mingle before it’s time to dance!
The East and South Verandas are going to be your spot for a cocktail hour. Here, you will have access to the grass, where you can set up some lawn games. There is a built-in custom bar where your guests can order specialty drinks, and there is furniture set up throughout so they have a comfy spot to chat ahead of the reception.
The venue has been exceptionally thoughtful with their bridal suites and groom’s room. Brides will get access to the She Shed. This adorable cottage has been decorated with a farmhouse theme, and you will have plenty of space to spread out, enjoy some drinks, and put on the finishing touches. The groom will have access to either the English hunting lodge-inspired called the Pump House or a comfortable shed called the Hop House. Regardless of which your party chooses, they can have a unique spot to hang out before the wedding begins.
Greencrest Manor is a positively breathtaking wedding space. It guarantees to stun from the second your guests enter the grounds. The entrance remains tree-lined with black iron lanterns that line the way. The front of the house has become draped with ivy, and a French door leads you into the manor. Inside the house, you will find a vibrant emerald green entryway with vintage paintings, tiled flooring, and a winding staircase with iron gates. The gardens feature iron fixtures with roses vining around the bars.
Meanwhile, The Maison des Fetes has wooden floors, white walls, ceilings draped with curtains and vines, and a white pergola leading to the outside of the house. A fountain is on the grounds of a Ceremony Lawn Deck, and trees surround the area. An intricate brick fence separates the house from the grounds and will serve as your backdrop. The venue can accommodate up to 200 guests for your celebration.
For your wedding portraits, Greencrest Manor offers several key spots you will want to use. The gardens have been mindfully designed for your portraits. The iron structure has a couch set up, and you will be able to use this for your portraits both individually and together. If you need a spot for your first look pictures, you should consider using the entryway. Not only will you be able to get a fabulous reaction, but you will show off all the details. The nearby library is a great spot for pictures with your wedding party. Lastly, the lawns are an accessible spot for your family pictures.
Greencrest Manor is going to do what it takes to turn your wedding into an absolute day. The first thing you need to know is that this isn’t just a venue; it’s also a fully functioning bed and breakfast! You will have a comfortable spot to crash throughout your entire wedding weekend. They partner with Millennium Catering to provide you with a delicious meal your guests will remember for years. Additionally, month-of coordinators are included in their package pricing. But they still advise that you work with a wedding planner for the rest of the process. They are able to create contingency plans that will keep you safe should it start to rain. You can find both elopement and all-inclusive packages.
